Arab League Condemns Israeli Raids and Al-Aqsa Mosque Incursions

The League of Arab States condemned Israeli military and settler actions across the occupied Palestinian territories and southern Lebanon on August 13, 2026. The organization specifically denounced the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by hundreds of Israeli colonists who were protected by police. The League described the performance of rituals in the mosque courtyards as a violation of international law and the sanctity of the site, asserting that the entire 144-dunum area is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims.

Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy warned that continued Israeli escalation could widen the conflict and threaten regional stability. He cited a pattern of raids, arrests, home demolitions, and attacks on civilian facilities in southern Lebanon as primary drivers of this instability.

The Arab League called on the United Nations Security Council to intervene to protect Palestinian people and holy sites. The organization held the Israeli government responsible for the ongoing settler violence and incursions into the mosque.
