Stryker Names Spencer Stiles as Next CEO

Stryker Corporation announced a leadership succession plan on October 6, 2026, naming current President and Chief Operating Officer Spencer Stiles as the next Chief Executive Officer. Stiles will assume the role and join the company board on January 1, 2027.

Current CEO Kevin Lobo will transition to Executive Chair of the Board on the same date. Lobo has led the company since October 2012, overseeing a period where annual net sales grew from $8.7 billion to more than $26 billion. This growth was driven by over 60 acquisitions, including the purchase of Mako.

Lead Independent Director Sheri McCoy described the transition as the result of a "comprehensive, long-term succession planning process." Despite the planned nature of the leadership change, Stryker shares declined 3% during Tuesday morning trading.
