UAE Minister Attends Peruvian Presidential Inauguration in Lima
Reem Al Hashimy represented the UAE at the inauguration of Peruvian President Keiko Sofia Fujimori Higuchi to strengthen bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy attended the inauguration ceremony of Peruvian President Keiko Sofia Fujimori Higuchi in Lima on July 31, 2026. Representing UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Al Hashimy presented an official invitation for President Fujimori to visit the United Arab Emirates.
The two nations commemorated the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, which were established on June 17, 2026. Both governments committed to expanding bilateral cooperation across several sectors, including energy, defense, security, technology, and disaster management.
During the visit, Al Hashimy held meetings with regional leaders from Ecuador, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Honduras. These discussions focused on trade, food security, and digital transformation. Al Hashimy described Latin America as a strategic partner for the UAE.
