SpaceX Invests Billions in AI via Reflection AI Deal
SpaceX is scaling its artificial intelligence capabilities through a $6.3 billion deal with Reflection AI and the acquisition of Anysphere.
SpaceX is expanding its artificial intelligence infrastructure through a series of strategic investments and acquisitions designed to integrate production-grade AI into its engineering and operational workflows. The company entered a $6.3 billion agreement with the AI start-up Reflection AI, which will pay $150 million per month starting July 1 for access to high-powered Nvidia GB300 chips at the Colossus data center in Tennessee.
To strengthen its internal software development, SpaceX acquired Anysphere, the parent company of the AI coding tool Cursor. These moves are supported by a recent public offering that valued the company at $2 trillion, providing the necessary capital for large-scale scaling.
Additionally, the company is recruiting specialized AI engineers to build tools for spacecraft and launch vehicles. Through its Special Programs division, SpaceX is also developing AI integrations specifically for U.S. federal agencies.
