Air Canada and United Airlines Expand Transborder Flight Partnership
Air Canada and United Airlines renewed their joint business agreement to launch new routes and increase flight capacity between Canada and the United States for summer 2027.
Air Canada and United Airlines have agreed to renew and expand their Transborder Joint Business Agreement to increase connectivity between Canada and the United States. Pending regulatory approval from Transport Canada, the partnership will introduce several new routes for the summer 2027 season.
Air Canada will launch services from Toronto to Louisville, Montréal to Indianapolis, and Edmonton to Newark, while increasing capacity between Edmonton and San Francisco. United Airlines will introduce seasonal service from Newark to St. John’s, new routes from Denver to Ottawa and Québec City, and increased flight frequency between Washington, D.C., and Québec City. United will also increase daily seats between Denver and Winnipeg by 65 percent.
Since the agreement began in 2022, the two airlines have created 20 new routes and served more than 4.3 million joint passengers. Executives from both carriers stated the expansion is intended to make travel between the two countries easier and provide customers with more direct ways to reach U.S. destinations.
