Bolt Integrates Ride-Hailing Services With ChatGPT in South Africa
Bolt has launched a ChatGPT plugin in South Africa allowing users to plan and request rides using natural language.
Bolt integrated its ride-hailing service with ChatGPT to allow users in South Africa to plan and request trips using natural language. The new ChatGPT plugin enables customers to obtain upfront fare estimates, compare different routes, and check driver arrival times. Once the user finalizes the details in the chat, the booking transfers to the Bolt app for final completion and payment.
Simo Kalajdzic, Senior Operations Manager at Bolt South Africa, stated that the integration aims to simplify everyday mobility tasks for consumers. This move follows global trends identified by Accenture research, which found that 80% of global travelers now use AI for travel planning. Bolt plans to introduce direct payments within the ChatGPT interface in a future update.
