Iran to Sell Seized US and Israeli Vessels
Iran announced it will sell commercial vessels linked to the United States and Israel to compensate families affected by recent conflict.
The Government of Iran announced Tuesday that it will sell commercial vessels linked to the United States and Israel that were seized in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Hassan Abdollianpour, head of the judiciary’s Center for Lawyers, stated the seizures were based on judicial rulings.
Proceeds from the sales will be distributed to individuals and families affected by a war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28. Tehran claims that conflict resulted in thousands of deaths. In response to those attacks, Iran conducted missile and drone strikes across the region and closed the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian experts have also begun evaluating damages caused by United States attacks in the southern Hormozgan province and surrounding areas.
