Conservative PACs Spend $889,000 to Protect Kentucky GOP Supermajority

Six conservative political action committees spent $889,000 on advertisements and canvassing to support Republican candidates in the Kentucky general election.

Six conservative political action committees have spent $889,000 on advertisements and canvassing to support Republican candidates in the Kentucky general election. The funding targets seven candidates in competitive districts to maintain the GOP supermajority in the Kentucky General Assembly.

State Senator Julie Raque Adams received the most significant support, with five PACs spending over $500,000 on her reelection bid. Other major beneficiaries include Representative Susan Witten and Representative Ken Fleming. Funding for these efforts came from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and various tobacco and spirits companies.

Democratic legislative candidates have received minimal independent support, with only one PAC spending less than $6,000. While Governor Andy Beshear has stockpiled millions in his own super PACs, those funds have been directed toward a congressional race and a Court of Appeals candidate rather than legislative seats.
