Egypt Prime Minister Demands Gaza Ceasefire at UN General Assembly

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly demanded an end to Israeli violations against Palestinians and the full implementation of a Gaza ceasefire during his address at the 81st UN General Assembly. He rejected any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip or the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, asserting that "Peace cannot be built on uprooting a people from their land."

Madbouly advocated for the creation of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital. He further addressed regional stability, warning that security cannot be achieved by attacking neighbors or threatening energy and trade routes.

On domestic and continental priorities, the prime minister described Egypt's water security as an "existential issue" and opposed unilateral actions regarding shared water resources. He also expressed support for the unity of Sudan and called for a comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council to increase representation for African nations.
