Asda, M&S and Home Bargains Issue Urgent Product Recalls

Asda, Marks and Spencer, and Home Bargains are recalling a children's toy, a glass jug, and crisps due to safety and allergen risks.

Three major retailers have issued urgent product recalls following safety warnings from government regulators. Asda is recalling the Hapello Power Train, a battery-powered toy sold from August 2024 to February 2026. The Office for Product Safety and Standards determined the toy does not meet the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 because a detachable orange steam dome poses a choking risk to children under 36 months.

Marks and Spencer has recalled its blue-tinted Hand Painted Jug, model T34/9829D, after identifying a potential safety issue where glass breakage could result in injury. Simultaneously, Home Bargains is recalling 125g bags of Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps with best-before dates up to October 31, 2026. The Food Standards Agency issued the notice because the crisps contain undeclared milk and wheat, creating a hazard for individuals with allergies or coeliac disease.

All three retailers are offering full refunds to affected customers. The Food Standards Agency has explicitly warned consumers not to eat the affected crisps, while Marks and Spencer recommends that customers stop using the glass jug immediately.
