GE Vernova to Acquire Trench Group for $9 Billion
GE Vernova agreed to buy high-voltage grid equipment manufacturer Trench Group from Triton Partners for $9 billion to expand its global electrification portfolio.
GE Vernova agreed to acquire Trench Group, a manufacturer of high-voltage grid equipment, from the investment firm Triton Partners for $9 billion. The company plans to fund the transaction equally through cash and debt to scale its electrification portfolio and meet increasing global demand for grid modernization and energy-security technologies.
Trench Group operates 11 manufacturing sites across Asia, North America, and Europe, providing services to more than 800 utilities and hyperscalers. Chief Executive Scott Strazik stated that the acquisition leverages Trench's high-voltage grid technology and customer relationships to support the "electricity supercycle."
The deal remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in late 2027.
