Jet-Powered Drone Strike Kills Two Ukrainian Train Crew

A jet-powered Shahed drone struck the locomotive of a passenger train in the Odesa region of Ukraine on Thursday, August 13, 2026. The attack killed the train driver and his assistant.

Ukrzaliznytsia, the state railway operator of Ukraine, reported that the locomotive crew continued to operate the train after the strike to ensure the safe evacuation of 340 passengers. No casualties were reported among the passengers or the remaining crew members.

Ukrzaliznytsia praised the dedication of the deceased employees, noting that they prioritized passenger safety until the end.
