Yediyurappa Demands Karnataka Chief Minister Resign After NDA Sweep
BJP veteran B. S. Yediyurappa called for Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar to resign following a clean sweep by the NDA in Legislative Council elections.
BJP veteran B. S. Yediyurappa demanded the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar after the National Democratic Alliance achieved a clean sweep in the state's Legislative Council elections. The polls, conducted via ballot papers for four teachers' and graduates' constituencies, resulted in significant margins for NDA candidates.
Yediyurappa argued that the victory of conscientious and sensible voters proves the Congress government has lost its moral right to govern. He accused the administration of corruption and financial bankruptcy, citing the Chief Minister's own admission that the government lacked the resources to meet the demands of sugarcane growers.
Following the results, Yediyurappa challenged the Chief Minister to a public debate and predicted a thumping majority for the BJP-JD(S) alliance in the upcoming Assembly polls.
