Apple Unveils HomePod mini 2 with S10 Chip
Apple announced the HomePod mini 2 smart speaker featuring an S10 chip, new Sound Glow lighting, and integrated Siri AI capabilities.
Apple unveiled the HomePod mini 2 during its Welcome Home event on October 13, 2026. The refreshed compact smart speaker features the S10 chip, which enhances audio performance and allows the device to serve as a default audio output for Mac computers.
A new Sound Glow feature enables the top LED surface to pulse in synchronization with music and mirror the colors of album artwork. While the speaker supports Siri AI and Apple Intelligence, these capabilities will not be available at launch; they will arrive via a future free software update for users with compatible devices.
The device is available in five colors: pink, green, blue, white, and midnight. It is priced at $149.99 in the United States, £149 in the United Kingdom, and AU$229 in Australia, marking a price increase over the original 2020 model. Preorders are currently open, with shipping scheduled to begin on October 30.
