Election Officials Launch Early Voting for November 3 General Election
Election officials across Washington, Iowa, and California are initiating early voting and mailing ballots to encourage voter turnout for the November 3 general election.
Election officials in multiple states have launched early voting processes and ballot distribution for the November 3 general election. In Washington's North Olympic Peninsula, Ian Hillway and other officials mailed ballots on October 15 to voters in Clallam and Jefferson counties. Hillway and Auditor Shoona Riggs emphasized that signature verification and a canvassing board secure the process against fraud, noting that discrepancies are referred to law enforcement.
In California's Inland Empire, the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters launched the "Don’t Ghost the Vote" campaign to discourage voters from delaying their submissions. San Bernardino is expanding its early voting sites on October 29 to include locations in Chino, Highland, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Yucaipa. Nearby Riverside County began early voting on October 5 and is offering Election Observer Tours and a livestream of its elections office to increase transparency.
Meanwhile, in Delaware County, Iowa, absentee voting began October 15. Voters there can cast absentee ballots in person at the Auditor's Office through November 2. Across these regions, officials are urging voters to utilize drop boxes or mail their ballots early to avoid potential postal delays.
