Singapore Approves Aleph Farms Cultivated Beef for Sale

The Singapore Food Agency approved the sale of Aleph Farms' Cultivated Thin-Cut Steak, making Singapore the second country globally to authorize the sale of cultivated beef after Israel. The product is a hybrid steak consisting of a soy and wheat protein matrix blended with 10% to 20% cultivated beef cells derived from Black Angus cows.

Aleph Farms plans to introduce the steak in select Singapore restaurants during the first half of 2027, with a goal to expand volumes throughout 2028. To support this rollout, the company is partnering with Cell Agritech to establish production facilities in Singapore and Penang, Malaysia, positioning the region as a hub for Asia-Pacific commercialization.

Company leadership characterized the approval as a significant milestone in food security and diversification. Aleph Farms has already submitted regulatory dossiers for similar approvals in Switzerland, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
