Google Launches Pixel 11 with Tensor G6 Processor

Google unveiled the Pixel 11 series featuring the Tensor G6 processor, which utilizes TSMC's 3-nanometre manufacturing process to improve compute and power efficiency.

Google launched the Pixel 11 smartphone series featuring the new Tensor G6 processor. The chip is manufactured using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's 3-nanometre process, a detail confirmed by Google Vice President of Hardware Peng Yu-chun. This confirmation contradicts earlier speculation that the company would be the first smartphone manufacturer to adopt a 2-nanometre process.

Google claims the Tensor G6 offers significant performance gains over the Tensor G5, including 50% more TPU compute and up to 30% better power efficiency. The company also reports 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches. Hardware upgrades include an improved Image Signal Processor for Night Sight and digital zoom, alongside an upgraded Titan M3 security chip.

Despite these improvements, early Geekbench listings indicate the CPU may remain less powerful than competing flagship processors from Apple and Samsung. The chip incorporates modern ARM CPU cores but does not yet match the raw processing power of its primary rivals.
