Advent International Raises $30 Billion for New Fund Complex
Advent International secured $30 billion for its 11th global private equity fund and a new mid-market strategy targeting North American and European companies.
Advent International raised $30 billion across its latest fund complex, marking the largest buyout fund closure of 2026 to date. The firm secured $27 billion for its 11th global private equity fund, GPE XI, and more than $3 billion for a mid-market strategy launched in March.
GPE XI will focus primarily on investments in Europe and North America, while seeking expansion in Asia-Pacific and Latin American markets. The mid-market vehicle targets companies in North America and Europe with enterprise values up to $1.25 billion, with planned equity investments ranging from $100 million to $350 million.
This capital raise comes during a period of sluggish exit markets. Buyout firms have struggled to sell holdings and distribute cash to investors, a condition that typically restricts the capital available for new fund commitments.
