Nevada County and Texas Begin General Election Result Reporting
Election officials in Nevada County and Texas are releasing unofficial General Election results following the close of polls on November 3.
Election officials in Nevada County, California, and across Texas began releasing unofficial General Election results on November 3, 2026. In Texas, the Office of the Texas Secretary of State began populating statewide and district-level data around 7:30 p.m. Central Time, though final results depend on the processing of provisional, military, and overseas ballots.
In California, Armando Salud-Ambriz, the Registrar of Voters for Nevada County, noted that certified results will not be available until at least November 25. This timeline is driven by state laws requiring signature matching for mail-in ballots and the acceptance of ballots postmarked by Election Day through November 10. A mandatory 1% manual tally audit to verify machine accuracy is scheduled for November 12 in Grass Valley.
Salud-Ambriz stated that while waiting for results can be frustrating, the time allows workers to complete legal checks and ensure every eligible ballot is counted accurately. In Texas, reporting timelines varied by region, as El Paso and Hudspeth Counties operate in the Mountain Time Zone and could not release results until their local polls closed.
