Coca-Cola Suspends Fairlife U.S. Production After Ransomware Attack
The Coca-Cola Company halted all U.S. production at its Fairlife dairy subsidiary following a ransomware attack that breached critical manufacturing systems.
The Coca-Cola Company suspended all United States manufacturing operations for its Fairlife dairy brand after discovering a ransomware attack on July 16, 2026. The breach involved unauthorized third-party access to systems critical for production, including plant coordination, scheduling, and output, prompting the company to take several operations offline to secure the network.
In a disclosure to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company stated that the full scope, nature, and material impact of the attack are not yet known. Coca-Cola has not disclosed whether the attackers compromised employee, customer, or supplier data, nor has it identified the group responsible for the breach. Despite the disruption, the company confirmed that product quality and safety were not impacted and that Fairlife operations in Canada remained unaffected.
To manage the recovery, Coca-Cola activated business continuity and incident response protocols, notified law enforcement, and engaged external cybersecurity specialists to restore impacted production lines. Fairlife, which produces milk and protein shakes, is a significant growth driver for the parent company with annual sales exceeding $3 billion. A definitive timeline for the resumption of U.S. production has not yet been provided.
