APC Reaffirms Solomon Adeola as Ogun Governorship Candidate

The All Progressives Congress reaffirmed Senator Solomon Adeola as its 2027 Ogun State governorship candidate and disowned aspirant Abayomi Hunye as a suspended imposter.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, also known as Yayi, as its official governorship candidate for Ogun State in the 2027 election. The party issued the confirmation to rebut claims by aspirant Abayomi Semako Hunye, who had declared himself the party's candidate.

State Chairman Yemi Sanusi and National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru both dismissed Hunye's claims, with Basiru describing him as an "imposter." The party clarified that Hunye was suspended on April 7, 2026, following a petition from his ward in Ipokia Local Government Area regarding anti-party activities and efforts to cause division among members.

The APC stated that Adeola was validly elected during the party primary, securing 304,055 votes from 305,287 accredited voters. Adeola has selected Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun as his running mate. The party confirmed that the names of both candidates have been formally submitted and uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, with official acknowledgement slips already issued.
