Rigetti Computing Prepares Second-Quarter Results Amid Financial Loss

Rigetti Computing will release second-quarter 2026 operating results on August 6 while navigating net losses and technical errors in its flagship quantum system.

Rigetti Computing will release its second-quarter 2026 operating results on August 6. The company faces a precarious financial situation, having recorded a net loss of $20.5 million in the first quarter of 2026, driven by operating expenses of $27.3 million.

Despite these losses, the firm reported a 198% revenue increase to $4.4 million in the first quarter. Growth prospects include an $8.4 million order from India's Center for Development of Advanced Computing for the Cepheus-1-108Q system, scheduled for delivery later this year. The company also received $100 million from the U.S. government as part of a larger $2 billion initiative supporting nine quantum computing firms.

Technical and market challenges persist. The Cepheus-1-108Q system continues to produce errors that prevent the company from solving complex real-world problems. Additionally, analysts view the stock as overvalued, citing a price-to-sales ratio of 445. Ark Invest has estimated that quantum computers may take 20 years before they can accurately disrupt cryptography.
