OpenAI Launches Premium ChatGPT Seats for Business Users

OpenAI launched Premium ChatGPT seats on August 10, 2026, to increase productivity for active business teams and attract more enterprise users. The new tier removes the five-hour usage limit and provides five times the capacity of Standard seats.

Premium seats are priced at $125 per user per month, or $100 per user per month with annual billing. In contrast, Standard seats remain available at $25 monthly or $20 annually.

The expansion follows increased competition from Anthropic, whose AI tool Claude has gained traction among enterprise clients for high-precision tasks including code review and contract analysis.
