Rocket Lab Shares Jump After 13th Electron Launch

Rocket Lab shares rose 10% following the successful deployment of an iQPS satellite, marking the company's 92nd overall Electron rocket mission.

Rocket Lab shares increased approximately 10% on August 7, 2026, after the company completed its 13th successful Electron rocket launch of the year. The mission deployed a satellite for the Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space (iQPS), which has 10 more launches scheduled with the company to finish an Earth-imaging constellation by 2030. This flight represented the 92nd overall mission for the Electron rocket.

The company's financial momentum is supported by substantial government agreements, including a $397 million contract with the United States Space Force to develop threat-detection Flatellites and a $266 million contract for suborbital launches. Rocket Lab also conducts hypersonic test launches for the United States Department of Defense using HASTE rockets.

Despite high volatility in 2026, including a 115% surge followed by a plunge, the stock remains up 86% over the past year. Long-term growth is tied to the development of the Neutron medium-lift rocket, which is scheduled for its first launch in late 2026, with revenue expected to begin in 2027.
