Larsen & Toubro Net Profit Rises 14 Percent to 41.23 Billion Rupees
Larsen & Toubro reported a 14 percent increase in first-quarter net profit and secured 1.08 trillion rupees in new orders despite conflicts in West Asia.
Larsen & Toubro reported a 14 percent increase in consolidated net profit to 41.23 billion rupees for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. Revenue from operations grew approximately 7 percent to 679.42 billion rupees, while the company secured 1.08 trillion rupees in new orders, marking a 14 percent year-on-year increase. This brought the consolidated order book to 7.79 trillion rupees.
The company faced a nearly 90 percent decline in orders within its conventional energy business, a loss attributed to the Iran-US war and instability in West Asia. To offset these losses, the firm doubled order inflows in infrastructure and utilities and achieved 58 percent growth in its green energy business. International orders remained a core driver, accounting for 52 percent of new inflows.
To sustain momentum and cash flow, the company divested non-core assets, including Nabha Power and its stake in the Hyderabad Metro. The Government of Telangana agreed to acquire the stake in the metro project. Management indicated that the company maintained performance by rotating its focus across different sectors and geographies to mitigate geopolitical uncertainties.
