Viasat Wins $307 Million Marine Corps Satellite Contract
Viasat subsidiary Inmarsat Government received a $42 million initial order to provide multi-orbit satellite connectivity for the U.S. Marine Corps.
The U.S. Space Force Commercial Satellite Communications Office awarded a seven-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to Inmarsat Government, Inc., a subsidiary of Viasat, for the Marine Enterprise Commercial Satcom Satellite Services. The contract has a total potential ceiling of $307 million, with an initial task order of $42 million issued on September 23, 2026.
The agreement provides the United States Marine Corps with managed satellite connectivity across L-band, Ku-band, and Ka-band spectra. This architecture utilizes high-throughput ViaSat-3 geostationary satellites and multi-orbit partner constellations to support the Marine Corps Enterprise Network. The system is designed to ensure secure data custody between fixed command infrastructure and deployed expeditionary forces.
Viasat will maintain 24/7/365 coverage through dedicated Network and Security Operations Centers to support operations in contested and austere environments. Company executives stated the solution aims to provide an information advantage and maintain dominance across the battlespace by leveraging a scalable ecosystem of integrated technologies.
