IDFC First Bank Reports Record ₹1,074 Crore Quarterly Profit
IDFC First Bank reported a record first-quarter net profit of ₹1,074.96 crore and approved a ₹20,000 crore fund-raising plan to maintain capital adequacy.
IDFC First Bank reported a record standalone net profit of ₹1,074.96 crore for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27, representing a 132% increase over the ₹462.57 crore earned during the same period last year. This growth was supported by a 21% rise in net interest income to ₹5,972 crore and a 23% increase in other income to ₹2,128 crore.
Asset quality improved as gross non-performing assets fell to 1.51% from 1.97% year-on-year. To sustain capital adequacy, the bank's board approved fund-raising plans totaling up to ₹20,000 crore, split between ₹7,500 crore in equity securities and ₹12,500 crore in debt or other eligible instruments.
CEO V. Vaidyanathan cited strong business momentum and improving asset quality. As a hedge against macroeconomic, geopolitical, and monsoon-related volatility, the bank established a ₹515 crore voluntary contingency provision.
