Apple Inc. is internally testing iOS 26.6.1, a point release for iPhones ranging from the iPhone 11 onward. Detected via visitor logs on 9to5Mac and MacRumors, the update is expected to launch between August 10 and August 24, 2026. It follows the July 27 release of iOS 26.6.

The update prioritizes stability, security patches, and bug fixes, including potential resolutions for issues with Shortcuts automations. This release continues a trend of accelerated security patching, exemplified by the June 29 launch of iOS 26.5.2. Apple is increasing the cadence of these updates to counter the rising speed of AI-developed malicious hacking tools.
