Standard Chartered Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $100,000 by 2026
Standard Chartered analyst Geoff Kendrick projects Bitcoin could reach $100,000 by late 2026 following a U.S. Treasury liquidity-support expansion.
Standard Chartered analyst Geoff Kendrick predicts Bitcoin could reach $100,000 by the end of 2026, citing improving liquidity conditions and a potential cycle bottom. This projection follows a decision by the United States Department of the Treasury to at least double the maximum size of liquidity-support buybacks for longer-dated government bonds.
The Treasury increased the limit from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation for securities in the 10- to 30-year range. This expanded program, scheduled to run from September 9 through November 4, caused a sharp decrease in long-dated Treasury yields.
Kendrick notes that Bitcoin historically benefits from government liquidity interventions because of its fixed supply. Following the Treasury announcement, Bitcoin surged over 6% to nearly $69,000, marking its highest price level since early June.
