Major automakers Mahindra & Mahindra and Hyundai Motor India Limited both reported record-breaking sales for October 2026, citing strong festive-season demand and momentum in international markets.
Mahindra & Mahindra reached an all-time monthly high in SUV sales with 73,338 units, contributing to total vehicle sales of 131,109 units. This represents a 9% year-on-year increase. The company noted significant growth in exports, which surged 77%, and three-wheeler sales, which rose 38%. Growth was supported by a refreshed product portfolio, including the XUV 3XO ZNG, the company's first CNG vehicle.
Hyundai Motor India Limited achieved its highest-ever monthly sales with 82,299 units, a 17.7% year-on-year increase. Domestic sales hit a record 62,799 units, while exports grew 21.1% to 19,500 units. The Hyundai VENUE recorded its own domestic monthly high of 13,017 units. The company expects the newly launched Hyundai BAYON to further drive growth across India and more than 50 export markets, reinforcing India's role as a strategic manufacturing hub.
