Anthropic is preparing for an initial public offering that could raise $100 billion, with up to 20% of shares reserved for retail investors.
Anthropic is planning an initial public offering that could raise up to $100 billion, with the company considering allocating 15% to 20% of available shares to retail investors. This allocation could potentially provide retail traders with $20 billion in access to what is described as a "pure play trade on AI."
To manage the distribution, the company appointed JPMorgan Chase to lead the retail offering within the United States and Citigroup to coordinate the international retail component. The offering targets retail traders using platforms like Robinhood, as well as private banking clients and high-net-worth individuals.
According to the company's prospectus, the IPO will include offerings in the United Kingdom, Australia, and certain European Economic Area countries. The move follows a growing trend of increasing retail participation in massive public offerings.
