Threat Actors Claim Breach of 375,000 State Bank of India Accounts
Threat actors claim to have leaked data from 375,000 State Bank of India accounts, though the authenticity of the dataset remains unverified.
Threat actors claiming to be Siriusim and Cyberpulse56 have asserted they accessed and released a dataset containing information from 375,000 State Bank of India accounts. The purported leak consists of 375,000 CSV rows and 2,722 PDF documents, including residential addresses, personal customer details, loan applications, and account-opening documents.
Cybersecurity monitoring account CyberPulse flagged the claim, warning that the exposure could facilitate identity theft, financial fraud, and targeted phishing if the data is legitimate. However, CyberPulse and other reports emphasize that the authenticity, origin, and extent of the alleged exposure remain unverified, and there is no confirmation that the bank's systems were actually compromised.
As of October 20, the State Bank of India has not responded to inquiries regarding the breach claims from various sources, including The Economic Times.
