EasyJet Partners With Starlink For Fleet-Wide Inflight Wi-Fi
EasyJet signed an agreement with SpaceX to install Starlink high-speed internet across its entire Airbus fleet.
EasyJet Plc signed an agreement with SpaceX to install Starlink inflight Wi-Fi across its entire Airbus SE fleet. The deal marks a strategic shift for the budget carrier to meet growing passenger demand for high-speed internet services within the low-cost airline sector.
The partnership follows a period of hesitation from the airline's leadership. In January, Chief Executive Officer Kenton Jarvis had questioned the financial viability of such a partnership, stating that "the economics of the deal don’t work."
While EasyJet and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. have not disclosed the specific financial or technical terms of the current accord, a company official confirmed the agreement has been reached.
