Egypt Condemns Israeli Raid on UNRWA Training Center

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned an Israeli raid on a UNRWA training center in Qalandia where students and staff were detained.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong condemnation following a raid by Israeli forces on the Qalandia training center in the West Bank. The facility is operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). During the operation, Israeli forces entered the center and detained both staff and students.

Egypt characterized the action as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of United Nations facilities and a grave breach of international law. The ministry specifically cited the four Geneva Conventions concerning the protection of civilians under occupation as the basis for its condemnation.

In response to the incident, the Egyptian government called upon the United Nations, the Security Council, and the broader international community to implement urgent measures. Egypt stated these steps are necessary to halt repeated violations against UN facilities and to ensure the protection of the humanitarian mandate of UNRWA.
