Piyush Goyal Holds Trade Talks With UAE and Indonesia
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal met with trade ministers from the UAE and Indonesia in Jaipur to strengthen investment ties and review trade agreements.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held separate bilateral meetings with the trade ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia on August 7 in Jaipur. The discussions occurred on the sidelines of the BRICS Trade and Industry Ministers' Meeting during India's 2026 BRICS presidency.
In talks with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani Al Zeyoudi, Goyal focused on strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The two officials explored collaboration across various sectors to maintain economic momentum.
In a separate session with Indonesian Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Goyal reviewed the progress of negotiations for the ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA). The ministers also discussed strategies to develop more resilient supply chains and deepen bilateral economic engagement to advance trade-led growth.
