Jes Staley Admits Visiting Epstein Island in House Testimony

The House Oversight Committee released testimony from Jes Staley, a former executive at JPMorgan and Barclays, detailing his extensive relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Staley admitted to visiting Epstein's private island three times and his townhouse dozens of times. He acknowledged a consensual encounter with a woman on Epstein's staff around 2010, though he denied having sex with a woman identified in emails as Snow White.

Staley testified that JPMorgan likely ignored red flags concerning Epstein's large cash withdrawals for years and suspected Epstein of sex trafficking by 2011. He claimed he discussed Epstein with JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon in 2006 and 2008, though JPMorgan has denied that these conversations took place. Staley also suggested that Mary E. Erdoes, head of asset and wealth management at JPMorgan, may have alerted Epstein to the bank's sensitivity regarding his accounts.
