Cockroach Janta Party Plans New Delhi March Over NEET Promises

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a peaceful protest march in New Delhi scheduled for September 5, coinciding with Teachers' Day. The mobilization will proceed from India Gate to the Delhi Police Headquarters and will be led by families of students who died by suicide following NEET-UG 2026 irregularities and victims of police brutality.

The CJP accuses the Government of India of reneging on commitments made on July 25, 2026, which had previously ended a 36-day nationwide agitation. These promises included the withdrawal of FIRs against student protesters, the provision of ₹1 crore in compensation for bereaved families, and broader examination reforms. The party alleges the government is playing delay games and failed to provide the Supreme Court of India with a comprehensive list of FIRs for potential quashing during an August 18 hearing.

The original June 20 agitation over paper leaks previously forced the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25, marking the first cabinet minister to leave office under public pressure during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 12-year tenure. While Prime Minister Modi has expressed opposition to the harassment of young protesters, the CJP asserts its good faith was met with betrayal.

Separately, police in Latur, Maharashtra, registered an FIR against CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and five others for allegedly entering a government school without permission and threatening teachers during a 'School Theek Karo' campaign.
