Hugo Boss Lowers 2026 Profit and Sales Outlook
Hugo Boss downgraded its annual sales and profit forecasts citing weak consumer demand and increased technology costs while transitioning to a Frasers subsidiary.
Hugo Boss downgraded its annual sales and operating profit outlook on November 3, 2026, citing macroeconomic uncertainty and geopolitical tensions that have weakened consumer demand. The German fashion group now expects group sales to decline in the high-single-digit percentage range for the year, a more significant drop than its previous mid- to high-single-digit forecast.
Projected earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) have been lowered to between €250 million and €300 million, down from the earlier estimate of €300 million to €350 million. The company attributed this profit decline to higher non-cash depreciation and amortization expenses stemming from investments in AI and technology developments.
Recent financial performance reflects these challenges, with third-quarter revenue falling 4% to €946 million and EBIT decreasing nearly 15% to €81 million. These developments occur as the company transitions into a subsidiary of Frasers after the British retailer increased its ownership stake to over 50%.
