Google Launches Gemini Spark AI Agent in India and Australia

Google launched Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal AI agent designed to transition artificial intelligence from a reactive assistant to an active partner. The service is currently rolling out to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in India and Australia, with the full deployment expected to conclude by next month.

Powered by the Gemini model series and operating on Google Cloud infrastructure, the agent automates repetitive digital chores in the background, even while devices are locked or powered off. It integrates natively with Google Workspace tools, including Gmail, Docs, and Sheets. Key capabilities include monitoring inboxes, organizing travel itineraries, auditing digital invoices, tracking subscription price increases, and drafting emails based on a user's specific writing style.

The agent operates under user direction and requires explicit permission before executing high-stakes actions, such as sending messages or spending money. Google intends to introduce third-party app integrations in the future to expand the agent's utility beyond the Google ecosystem.
