Google Launches Gemini Spark AI Agent in India and Australia

Google launched Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal AI agent, for subscribers in India and Australia between July 29 and July 30, 2026. Powered by Gemini 3.6 Flash and operating via cloud infrastructure, the agent transitions AI from a reactive tool to an active partner capable of performing multi-step workflows in the background even when devices are locked or powered off.

Gemini Spark integrates natively with Google Workspace tools, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Drive. It automates repetitive digital chores such as monitoring inboxes for updates, organizing travel itineraries, auditing digital invoices, and managing RSVPs. To ensure security, the agent requires explicit user permission before performing high-stakes actions, such as sending messages or spending money. The service is available to Google AI Ultra and AI Pro subscribers, with a phased rollout occurring through August.

Simultaneously, Google updated its Gemini app for macOS with global English-language support. This update introduces a voice mode triggered by long-pressing the Fn key and screen awareness features that allow the AI to analyze active windows. These tools enable users to summarize documents and draft emails based on visible on-screen data without leaving their current application, placing the software in direct competition with Apple Intelligence.
