Azerbaijan Iran and Russia Formalize North-South Corridor Agreement

Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia signed a trilateral memorandum to improve the efficiency and logistics of the North-South corridor's western route.

The Government of Azerbaijan, the Government of Iran, and the Federal Government of Russia signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding to increase the efficiency of the western route of the North–South corridor.

The agreement aims to establish a more predictable and economically viable logistics chain. To achieve this, the three nations will harmonize tariff approaches, create a single complex tariff, and launch regular block trains. The cooperation also includes efforts to improve general transportation procedures to facilitate a continuous increase in regional transit flows.

By implementing these measures, the participating governments intend to strengthen their roles as reliable participants in international transport corridors.
