Jamie Davis Accuses Julia Letlow of Insider Trading in Senate Race

Democratic candidate Jamie Davis released ads accusing Republican Julia Letlow of insider trading as early voting begins for Louisiana's U.S. Senate seat.

Democratic candidate Jamie Davis released two campaign advertisements on October 15 ahead of early voting for the November 3 election to replace Senator Bill Cassidy in Louisiana. One advertisement highlights Davis's background as a third-generation farmer and his goals to reduce living costs. The second advertisement alleges that Republican opponent Julia Letlow signed a secret non-disclosure agreement with Meta on June 29, 2024, to obtain inside information about a Richland Parish data center and subsequently purchased related stocks without disclosure for over a year.

Julia Letlow, a sitting member of the U.S. House of Representatives, dismissed the allegations as "desperate attacks" and has declined multiple invitations from television stations to debate Davis. Letlow's campaign, managed by Parker Carey, maintains a significant fundraising advantage and focuses on border security, energy dominance, and flood insurance costs.

Davis is utilizing a grassroots strategy with 4,000 volunteers and 25 paid organizers to counter Letlow's financial lead. His platform emphasizes protecting rural hospitals, restoring SNAP benefits, and opposing eminent domain for carbon capture projects. Early voting runs through October 27.
