Clearview Dynamics Evaluates Roanoke County Data Center Site

The Western Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority (WVRIFA) has entered into an agreement with Clearview Dynamics to evaluate the Wood Haven Technology Park in Roanoke County, Virginia, for a potential data center. The project is currently in a due diligence phase that will continue through March 2027, encompassing environmental reviews, utility capacity studies, and geotechnical assessments.

WVRIFA Executive Director John Hull defended the decision against critics of data center development, stating that the project represents an economic development and fiscal benefit return. Hull claimed that the revenue generated by a data center campus is easily ten times what an equivalent sized manufacturer would produce on the same site.

Clearview Dynamics has committed to funding all required water and power infrastructure. The Western Virginia Water Authority confirmed that water for the facility will be sourced from the Spring Hollow Reservoir. The project intends to follow the community engagement and resource protection standards established by Governor Abigail Spanberger in Executive Order 22.
