Sofia Jiang Leaves Morgan Stanley to Launch Fashion Brand
Sofia Jiang resigned from a six-figure investment banking role at Morgan Stanley to pursue a career in fashion tech and build her own clothing brand.
Sofia Jiang resigned from a six-figure investment banking position at Morgan Stanley four months after graduating from Georgetown University. Despite a starting base salary of 110,000 dollars, Jiang left the industry because the career path did not align with her goal of learning how to run a business.
Following her departure, Jiang worked briefly at a venture capital-backed startup before securing a full-time marketing role in the fashion tech sector. She obtained this position through a strategic cold-emailing campaign.
Jiang is currently building her own clothing brand, SofSet, as a side venture. She is leveraging a TikTok audience of over 30,000 followers that she cultivated during her time in school and her tenure in banking. Regarding her transition, Jiang stated, "I didn't leave without a plan."
