Israel Defense Forces Dismantle Hezbollah Tunnels in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces destroyed extensive tunnel networks and seized weapons in southern Lebanon while maintaining a ceasefire agreement.

The Israel Defense Forces conducted a series of operations in southern Lebanon between October 12 and October 14, focusing on the destruction of Hezbollah infrastructure. Troops from the 810th Brigade dismantled underground terror tunnel networks extending hundreds of meters, recovering Kalashnikov rifles, machine guns, and anti-tank missiles. In addition to the tunnels, soldiers discovered and confiscated a ready-to-detonate explosive device and various weapons positions on the outskirts of Kfar Shouba.

These ground operations coincided with aerial activity. The military launched interceptors at suspicious aerial targets on Sunday night and Monday morning. This followed a Saturday night incident in the border community of Arab al-Aramshe, where an unidentified aerial object triggered air-raid sirens before likely returning to Lebanese territory.

The military stated it remains committed to the ceasefire established under a June Trilateral Framework Agreement between Jerusalem and Beirut. This agreement permits Israeli forces to operate within the Security Zone until non-state armed groups are disarmed. The IDF asserted it will continue to remove threats to Israeli civilians and soldiers while adhering to the current agreement.
