Saudi Coalition Intercepts Houthi Missile Launched at Riyadh

The Saudi-led coalition intercepted a Houthi ballistic missile targeting Riyadh and a drone in the Eastern Province amid regional diplomatic efforts to curb instability.

The Saudi-led coalition intercepted a ballistic missile launched by Houthi militia toward Riyadh on Saturday, October 25, 2026. Coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki also reported the interception of a drone in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. These strikes follow a period of sustained Houthi activity throughout October, which included a deadly attack on Riyadh's international airport.

Parallel to the military escalations, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Egypt, and Pakistan, known as the R4 Group, met in Istanbul on Friday. The ministers condemned Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia and commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb, urging a return to the political process.

The R4 Group also addressed broader regional conflicts, calling for an end to Israeli violence in Palestine. The ministers urged a diplomatic resolution to the tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran to secure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
