A4103 Road in Leigh Sinton Set for Early Reopening

The A4103 main road in Leigh Sinton, a primary route connecting Worcester and Hereford, is expected to reopen by August 7 or 8, 2026. This timeline is nearly two weeks ahead of the original August 21 target. The road has been closed since July 20 to allow Shannonside Civil Engineering Ltd to install a deep sewer connection for a new housing development.

West Mercia Police confirmed the accelerated schedule, stating the works are progressing well. However, the developer, Lioncourt Homes, noted it cannot yet confirm a specific date pending external inspections, though it acknowledged the project is in the third week of a planned four-week programme.

To manage the closure, Worcestershire County Council implemented a 35-mile diversion through Cradley, Bromyard, Broadwas, and Rushwick. Dave Fereday of the Leigh and Bransford Parish Council described the resulting traffic situation as horrendous, citing significant problems with speeding on neighboring roads.
