He advocated for multilateralism and multipolarization, stating that the era of a single state dominating the international political arena has ended.
Kim emphasized that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will rely on its own efforts and overwhelming strength to ensure security. He characterized the nation's nuclear deterrent as an irresistible force necessary to safeguard sovereignty, specifically condemning the security alignment between the United States, Japan, and South Korea as a provocative military bloc.
Despite the rhetoric, the address was described as relatively mild and pro forma, lacking direct threats of regional destabilization. The diplomatic appearance followed the launch of two short-range ballistic missiles by North Korea two days prior to the meeting.
