Israel Defense Forces Kill Hamas Commanders and Destroy Weapon Caches

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of precision strikes in the Gaza Strip on July 30, 2026, targeting high-ranking militants and military infrastructure. In the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF killed Mahmoud Ali Mahmoud Taroush, a platoon commander and October 7 infiltrator. In the southern Gaza Strip, the military eliminated Ahmad Hisham Mahmoud Louh, the final remaining sniper cell commander of the Hamas Nuseirat Battalion.

Following these strikes, the IDF and Shin Bet collaborated to dismantle four Hamas weapon storage facilities. These caches contained explosive devices, ammunition, and Kalashnikov assault rifles. Military officials stated the operations were necessary to remove threats to civilians and troops operating in the Yellow Line area.

The IDF characterized the discovery of the weapon caches as evidence that Hamas is systematically violating the ceasefire agreement in an attempt to rehabilitate its military capabilities. Southern Command forces remain deployed in the region to continue identifying and removing security threats in accordance with the ceasefire terms.
