IDF Reports 100,000 Targets Struck Three Years After October 7
The Israel Defense Forces reported striking 100,000 regional targets and expanding reserve forces by 36 percent to mark the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks.
The Israel Defense Forces released a comprehensive operational summary on October 7, 2026, marking three years since the Hamas-led massacre. The military reported striking approximately 100,000 targets across the Middle East, including 65,000 in the Gaza Strip, 28,000 in Lebanon and Syria, 4,500 in Iran, and 80 in Yemen. In return, Israel was targeted by over 31,500 projectiles from multiple fronts.
The IDF reported 970 soldiers killed and 6,424 wounded during these operations. To meet evolving needs, the military expanded its reserve army by 36 percent and overhauled its readiness for surprise attacks. In the West Bank, security forces arrested over 45,000 suspects and seized 3,800 weapons and NIS 46 million intended for terrorism. The military claims to have dismantled much of the senior command of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, though it noted that Hamas continues attempts to rebuild.
These reports follow ceasefires established in Gaza in October 2025, Iran in April 2026, and Lebanon in June 2026. While the military highlighted its strategic gains, the announcement coincided with reports from local health authorities that more than 74,200 people were killed in Gaza. Additionally, United Nations investigators and human rights groups accused Israel of engaging in war crimes and collective punishment across Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria.
