Osita Chidoka Praises Orji Uzor Kalu at Abia Anniversary

Former Minister of Aviation Osita Chidoka praised the administration of former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu during the 35th anniversary celebration of Abia State. Serving as the guest speaker, Chidoka described Kalu's tenure from 1999 to 2007 as a defining era that allowed the state to "punch above its weight" and secure significant national visibility at the start of Nigeria's Fourth Republic.

Chidoka noted that this national momentum faded after Kalu left office, which he linked to a period of deteriorating infrastructure and a diminished standing for the state. He contrasted this decline with the current administration of Governor Alex Otti, who Chidoka said is utilizing a new opportunity to rebuild infrastructure and restore public confidence in the government.

Concluding his remarks, Chidoka argued that while societies require strong institutions for long-term stability, they first need strong leaders capable of building those systems to ensure the state can function effectively beyond any single administration.
